BALANGHARI EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE

Gavin and Gloria Coates set up the Balanghari Educational Initiative in 2008 to assist underprivileged children to attend school. At present the initiative is focused on Gloria's home village of Balangkare Sur in Nueva Ecija Province in the Philippines.

In the academic year 2013/14 our sponsors have enabled over 120 children to go to school who could otherwise miss out on an education.

The initiative operates under the umbrella of the Crossroads Foundation, a Hong Kong based charity, thereby ensuring that all monies are properly accounted for and subject to audit. The initiative pays the school fees for the recipient children directly to the schools and the schools provide academic and attendance reports for all the children.

Each year Santa Claus attends a Christmas Party outside Gloria's family home, assisted in his duties by Rudolf the red-nosed water buffalo, as can be seen in this video of the 2012 party:

Contributions can be made in the following ways:

2. Write a cheque payable to "Crossroads Foundation Limited" and post it to
"Accounts Department, Crossroads International, 2 Castle Peak Road, Tuen Mun, NT, Hong Kong".
Please write Balanghari Educational Initiative clearly on the back of the cheque.
